Stop Scams
This post is a little different to what I would normally put here, but it’s important and I wanted to make a note of it. I was just reading this post on Snoskred’s blog about scammers and ways you can help prevent people being scammed etc (I’ll add the link again at the bottom of this post - it’s well worth checking out)
First I have to say that I’m lucky that I’ve never been scammed - whether that’s luck or good judgement I’m not sure, but each time I see one of those job opportunity, inheritance emails or come across a site that sounds too good to be true etc I tend to wonder and worry about others that may fall for the lines/opportunities they are being offered.
Unfortunately too many people seem to have the ‘it won’t happen to me’ mindset so go full steam ahead and hope for the best (often all the while knowing in the back of their minds that there’s a fair chance it’s a scam but tend to work on the ‘what if’ theory that there’s a chance it might be legit and what they might miss out on if they don’t follow through)
Then of course there’s those that really have no knowledge that something like this might happen online, they’ve quietly been going about their business and doing their own thing when they suddenly receive an email or stumble across as site that looks totally legitimate (right down to the name and contact numbers etc).
Somehow the word needs to get out to help educate those that don’t know and those that should probably know better and that’s what this post: Please Help! What You Can Do To Stop Internet Scammers NOW is about - there’s some useful information and links to sites that are well worth reading and knowing more about
If you liked this post you can buy me a coffee :-)
